Privacy Policy

Hut to Hut is an offline planner for multi-day walks between mountain huts.

In short

Hut to Hut does not collect any personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Everything you enter stays on your device.

Data stored on your device

The following is saved only in the app's private storage on your iPhone or iPad. It is never sent to us or to anyone else:

• Treks, stages, hut details, booking notes and departure times you plan
• Your packing lists
• Photos of hut stamps and diary pictures you choose to add
• Diary pages, including the weather and trail conditions you record
• The optional name you enter for your hut book
• Preferences such as appearance, accent colour, walking pace, reminder timing, sounds and haptics

A small summary of your next stage is shared with the app's own Home Screen widget through an on-device app group. It never leaves the device.

Camera

The camera is used only when you tap to photograph a hut stamp. The photo is saved to that hut's stamp page inside the app. It is not uploaded.

Photo library

When you choose to attach an existing picture, the app opens the system photo picker. The app only receives the photo you select, and cannot see the rest of your library.

Notifications

Reminders for hut booking windows, departures and the evening diary are local notifications scheduled on your device. No push server is involved. You can turn them off in the app or in iOS Settings at any time.

Third parties

The app contains no third-party SDKs, no advertising networks and no analytics services. It makes no network requests to deliver its features.

Tracking

Hut to Hut does not track you across apps or websites and does not use the advertising identifier.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information from anyone.

Deleting your data

You can remove individual treks, stamp photos and diary pages in the app, or use Settings → Erase everything to delete all data at once. Deleting the app also removes all of its data from the device.

Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on our side. This applies whatever privacy law covers you, including GDPR, UK GDPR and CCPA.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
